I’m obsessed with stories. When I’m not writing them, I’m reading them, watching them or finding them in everyday conversation. I’ve dedicated the last 20 years of my life to communicating clearly. This involves more listening and thinking than writing, but I call myself a writer. I write for a living and I write for fun. Nothing makes me happier than a clean sentence and a sound paragraph.
Let me work with you to discover your story, gather creative ideas in a video treatment, and write a script that makes your message clear. Many organizations have relied on my skills including post-secondary institutions, government agencies, oil companies, high-technology companies, emergency services and safety associations. Before setting out on my own three years ago, I was employed by the City of Calgary Fire Department and before that I was employed by SAIT Polytechnic. I have helped develop courses in many subject areas, from math to communications and emergency response. Recent projects include the Welcome to Construction course for the Vancouver Island Construction Association, the H2S Alive Certification Course for Enform, and lesson plans for the first year of the Power Lineman Apprenticeship Program at the ENMAX Power Corporation. In addition to scripts and other training materials, I write fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction.
